Auxillary Verb (सहायक क्रिया)
An auxiliary verb is a type of model verb which indicates the likelihood, ability, permission and obligations.
किसी क्रिया का भाव, संभावना, क्षमता , अनुमति, और दायित्व का पता चले उसे सहायक क्रिया कहते हैं।
In English we use words such as: should, would, can, could, may might etc. These all words are the combination of all types of auxiliary verb.
For Example:
तुम्हें एक साथ काम करना चाहिए। (You should work together: Tumhe ek saath kam karna chahiye).
वह मंदिर जा सकता है। (She might go to the temple - Vah mandir ja skta hai).
राम अधिक से अधिक 5 किमी चल सकता है। (Ram can walk more than 5 km - Ram adhik se adhik 5 km chal skta hai).
There are three types of auxiliary verbs:
1) Obligation
2) Probability
3) Condition / Subjunctives
सहायक क्रियाओं के तीन प्रकार के होते हैं:
1) बाध्यता (Badhyata)
2) संभावना (Sambhawana)
3) की स्थिति (Istithi)
1) Obligation: The meaning of obligation is to give the commitments. In English we use "Should", whereas in Hindi we use"Chahiye (चाहिए)".
दायित्व: दायित्व का अर्थ होता है वायदा करना।
For Example: राम को स्कूल जाना चाहिए । (Rama should go to school - Ram ko school jana chahiye).
सीमा को कहानी पढ़ना चाहिए। (Seema should read the story - Seema ko kahani padna chahiye).
वह डॉक्टर के साथ यह सब चर्चा करनी चाहिए। (She Should discuss this with the doctor - vah doctoer ke saathb yah sab charcha karni chahiye).
हर औरत अपने राजकुमारी पल होना चाहिए , क्या तुम्हें नहीं लगता ? (Every woman should have her princess moments, do not you think? - Har aurat apne rajkumari ka pal hona chahiye, kya tumhe nhi lagta?)
मैं इस प्रत्याशित किया जाना चाहिए था । (I should have been anticipated - mai is pratyashit kiya jana chahiye tha).
Alternatively "चाहिये (Should)" is used with the subordinate clauses.
For Example:
आपको चाहिए कि अपने सेहत का ध्यान रखें। (You should be aware of their health).
मुझे चाहिए कि गरीबों की मदद करें। (I need to help the poor people).
2) Probability: Probability means the quality or state of being expected, at the certain extent likely to happen.
(संभावना मतलब है किसी निश्चित सीमा में होने की उम्मीद की जा रही और काम को संभावना हो ।)
For Example:
वह बिल्कुल ठीक था और वे शायद इसे फिर से नहीं होगा। (He was alright and they probably wouldn't do it again)
वह शायद सवारी के दौरान चोट पहुँचाने के लिए किया गया है, लेकिन कुछ भी कहने से इनकार कर दिया था । (He had probably been hurt during the ride, but refused to say anything.).
वह चिढ़ है, लेकिन वह शायद कुछ भी कहना नहीं होगा। (He's irritated, but he probably won't say anything).
वह शायद यह भी कि उसने क्या कहा पता ही नहीं चला । (He probably didn't even realize what he said).
वह शायद निजी तौर पर अलविदा कहना चाहती थी। (He probably wanted to say good-bye privately).
3) Subjunctive: The Subjunctive mood is used to express an action such as possibility, condition hypothetical or a duty.
(अधीन मनोदशा ऐसी संभावना , काल्पनिक शर्त के रूप में एक कार्रवाई व्यक्त करने के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है , कर्तव्य अधीन मूड कहा जाता है।)
मैं दौङ सकता हूँ , लेकिन मेरे पैर दर्द हो रहा है । (I can run but my leg is paining - Mai daud sakta hu, lekin mere pair me dard ho rha hai).
आप का प्रबंधन कर सकते हैं , लेकिन कुछ समस्या है । (You can manage but there is some problem - aap ka prabandha kar skte hai, lekin kuch samasya hai)
मैं इस तरह से आपको नहीं देख सकते । (I can't see you like this - mai is tarah se apko nhi dekh skte).
रमन जा सकते हैं , लेकिन वह अपने काम के साथ बहुत व्यस्त है। (Raman can go but he is very busy with his work - Raman ja sakte hai, lekin vah apne kam ke sath bhut vyasat hai.).
