Combination Words (युग्म-शब्द)
In Hindi, we have different way of speaking and have different meanings when we combine different sentences. In simple words, we can tell the combination of two words are called combination words.
हिन्दी भाषा मे बहुत शब्द ऎसे होते हैं, जिनका बोलने का तरीका और उसका मतलब अलग होते है, और युग्म–शब्द के अन्य अर्थ होता है दो शब्द के जोङो को युग्म–शब्द कहते है।
Hindi bhasha me bhut shabda aise hote hai, jinka bolne ka tarika aur uska matlb alag hote hai, or yugm shabda ke anya arth hote hai do shabdo ke jodo ko yugm shabda kahte hai.
Such as:
खाता – पीता (khaataa-peetaa) prosperous, well earning
भाग – दौड़ (bhaag- daud) running around/extremely busy
आगे – आगे (Aagey-Aaagey) ahead
अपना – अपना (Apnaa-apnaa) own
क्या – क्या (kyaa-kyaa) What not
साधू – संत (saadhoo-sant) sages/hermits/saints/monks
हरा – भरा (haraa-bharaa) green, fresh
चलते – चलते (chaltey-chaltey) while walking
धीरे – धीरे (dheere – dheerey) slowly
रहन – सहन (rahan-sahan) living
लाभ - हानि (laabh-haani) profit -loss
नया – पुराना (nayaa-puraana) anything(new-old)
चुप – चाप (Chup – Chaap) Silently
उबड़ – खाबड़ (ubad – khaabad) uneven
रोना – धोना (rona – dhonaa) to cry, weep
हिसाब – किताब (hisaab-kitaab) book of accounts, calculate,compute
लूट – पाट (loot-paat) to rob/ to loot
कहना – सुनना (kahnaa-sunanaa) to talk, listen, converse
सवाल – जवाब (sawaal-jawaab) question and answers
Sentence:
1) खाता – पीता (khaataa-peetaa)prosperous, well earning
राम खाते – पीते घर का है।
Ram khate pite ghar ka hai.
2) भाग – दौड़ (bhaag- daud) running around/ extremely busy
राम काम के कारण भाग – दौड़ कर रहा हैं।
Ram kam ke karan bhag - daud kar rha hai.
3) आगे – आगे (Aagey-Aaagey) ahead
तुम आगे – आगे चलो , मै पीछे से आता हूँ।
Tum aage - aage chlo mai, mai piche se aata hu.
4) अपना – अपना (Apnaa-apnaa) own
अपने – अपने परिवार के बारे में सब सोचते हैं।
Apne apne parivaar ke bare me sab sochte hai
5) क्या – क्या (kyaa-kyaa) What not
लोग अपने स्वार्थ के लिए क्या – क्या नही करते।
Log apne sawarth ke liye kya-kya nhi karte.
6) साधू – संत (saadhoo-sant) sages/hermits/saints/monks
साधू – संत हमेशा मंदिर मे रहते हैं।
Saadhu-sant hamesha mandir merahte hai.
7) हरा – भरा (haraa-bharaa) green, fresh
बगीचा बहुत हरा – भरा हैं।
Bagicha bhut hara-bhara hai.
8) चलते – चलते (chaltey-chaltey) while walking
चलते – चलते मुझे मेरा पुराना मित्र मिल गया।
Chalte-chalte mujhe mera purana mitra mil gya.
9) धीरे – धीरे (dheere – dheerey) slowly
भोजन धीरे – धीरे खाना चाहिए।
Bhojan dhire- dhire khana chahiye.
10) रहन – सहन (rahan-sahan) living
राम का रहन – सहन बहुत अच्छा हैं।
Ram ka rahan- sahan bhut acha hai.
11) लाभ - हानि (laabh-haani) profit -loss
व्यापार मे लाभ -हानि चलता रहता है।
Business me labh-hani chalta rahta hai.
12) नया – पुराना (nayaa-puraana) anything(new-old)
मेरे पास नये – पुराने किताब है।
Mere paas nya-prana kitab hai.
13) चुप – चाप (Chup – Chaap) Silently
नेहा बहुत चुप – चाप हैं।
Neha bhut chup- chap hai.
14) उबड़ – खाबड़ (ubad – khaabad) uneven
सङक बहुत उबड़ – खाबड़ है।
Sadak bhut ubad-khabad hai.
15) रोना – धोना (rona – dhonaa) to cry, weep
सिनेमा मे हमेशा रोना – धोना होता है।
Cinema me hamesha rona-dhona hota hai.
16) हिसाब – किताब (hisaab-kitaab) book of accounts, calculate,compute
रीतू का हिसाब – किताब बराबर करना है।
Ritu ka hisaab-kitab brabar karna hai.
17) लूट – पाट (loot-paat) to rob/ to loot.
शहर मे बहुत लूट – पाट हो रही है।
Shehar me bhut loot-paat ho rhi hai.
18) सवाल – जवाब (sawaal-jawaab) question and answers
न्यायालय मे वकील मुजरिम से सवाल – जवाब कर रहे हैं।
Court me vakil mujrim se sawal-jawab kar rhe hai.
