Compound Sentence (संयुक्त वाक्य)
A Compound sentence has two independent clauses or sentences, the independent clauses can be joined by a coordinating conjunction (such as "and", "for" and "but") or a semicolon.
( संयुक्त वाक्य , वह वाक्य है जिसमे दो स्वतंत्र वाक्य खंड शामिल होते है जो एक coordinator द्वारा जुङे होते है। ये coordinator - तो, लेकिन, और आदि है, जो हमेशा comma(,) के बाद आते है।)
Example: Aashtha tries to speak English and, her sister tries to speak French.
Note: "Tries" is verb
and: comma is used before coordinator.
a) Affirmative Sentence for compound sentence:
Examples:
Ashish went and came back soon. (आशीष गया है और जल्द वापस आ गया।)
You can go by train or return by flight. (तुम ट्रेन से जा सकते हो और हवाई जहाज से लौटो।)
Sun rises in the east but sets in the west. (सूरज पूरब मे उगता है लेकिन पश्चिम में डूबता है।)
Rahul is good in swimming and playing football. (राहुल तैरने और फुटबॉल खेलने मे अच्छा है।)
a) Negative Sentence:
Example:
Piyush failed because he did not study properly. (पीयूष में असफल हो गया क्योंकि वह ठीक से पढाई नहीं की ।)
Do not cheat in exams, you could be debarred. (परीक्षा में नकल मत करो, तुम वंचित किया जा सकता है।)
Do not assume, let the judgement come. (अनुमान मत लगाओ, निर्णय आने दो।)
Do not jump on the bed, you will fall. (बिस्तर पर मत कूदो , आप गिर जाओगे।)
b) Interrogative Sentence:
Examples:
Where has everybody gone? Nobody told me anything? (सब लोग कहाँ चला गए? कोई भी मुझे कुछ नहीं बताया ?)
How did you find it? I have been trying hard? (आपने इसे कैसे ढूंढा? मैं कड़ी मेहनत की कोशिश कर रहा है?)
when will the nurse come to change the bandage? (पट्टी बदलने के लिए नर्स कब आएगी ?)
