We use languages to exchange messages with others. Every language provides the usage of a collection of words to communicate. Such collection of words that communicate a complete message is known as a sentence.
In Hindi we can say that: sandesh ke aadan pradan ke liye bhaasha ka upyog kiya jaata hai. Har bhaasha ko bolne ya likkne ke liye shabdo ke samuho ka prayog kiya jaata hai . aise shabdo ke samuh jinke bhaav pure ho use hum sentence kahte hai.
Note: Through the sentence we can mention any person or object and provide a description.
(vakya ke dwara kis person or vastu ka varnan krte hai)
Based on the construction, sentences are divided into three types as follows:
a) Simple Sentence (सामान्यवाक्य):
b) Compound Sentence (संयुक्तवाक्य)
c) Complex Sentence (मिश्रितवाक्य)
Based on the meaning sentences are divided into six types as follows:
a) Imperamative Sentence - (आज्ञावाचकवाक्य)
b) Optative Sentence - (इच्छावाचकवाक्य)
c) Exclamatory Sentence - (विस्मयादिबोधकवाक्य)
d) Affirmative Sentence - (विधिवाचकवाक्य)
e) Negative Sentence - (निषेधवाचकवाक्य)
f) Interrogative Sentence - (प्रश्नवाचकवाक्य)
Simple Sentence (सामान्यवाक्य):
The sentence which contains a subject and a verb and expresses a complete thought is called simple Sentence.
(वह वाक्य हैं जिसमे एक विषय औ रएक क्रिया होता है और संपूर्ण विचार को व्यक्त करता है। उसे सामान्य वाक्य कहते है।)
Example: Boys are playing in the ground. (लड़के मैदान में खेल रहे हैं।)
In this example, boys are Noun and Playing is Verb
Girls are dancing joyfully (लड़कियॉ खुशी से नाचर ही हैं।)
Kids are watching T.V (बच्चे टीवी देख रहे हैं।)
She is talking on mobile. (वह मोबाइल पर बात कर रही है।)
Affirmative Sentence (विधिवाचक वाक्य):
The sentence in which an acceptance of a fact is present. (वह वाक्य जिसमे स्वीकृति का बोध होता हो उसे विधिवाचक वाक्य कहते है।)
I have worked in Delhi (मैंने दिल्ली में काम किया है)
Ajit became a scientist (अजीत एक वैज्ञानिक बन गया)
Sushil is an honest person (सुशील एक ईमानदार व्यक्ति है)
Negative Sentence
The sentence in which a denial of a fact is present is known as Negative Sentence.
(वह वाक्य जिसमे अस्वीकृति का बोध होता हो उसे निषेधवाचक वाक्य कहते है।)
Example: I am not in favor of this argument. (मैं इस बहस के पक्ष में नहीं हूँ ।)
Computer has not been repaired. (कंप्यूटर ठीक नहीं हुआ है।)
Megha is not coming regularly. (मेघा रोज नही आ रही है।)
Rahul is not trustworthy. (राहुल भरोसेमंद नहीं है)
Interrogative Sentence (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य)
The sentence in which a question is asked is known as Interrogative Sentence.
(वह वाक्य जिसमे प्रश्न पूछा गया उसे प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य कहतेहै)
Examples: What is your father name? (आपके पिता का नाम क्या है?)
Where do you live? (आप कहाँ रहते हैं?)
Who is that person? (वह व्यक्ति कौन है?)
Whom are you meeting today? (तुम आज किससे मिलने जा रहे हो?)
which school do you go to? (आप कौन से स्कूल जाते हो?)
