Hindi Time Related (समय से संबंधित)
Let us learn how to tell the time in Hindi. In Hindi, telling time is different as compared to English as there is no alternative of AM or PM. Here are some of the different types of examples related to time.
Ram: when did you get here?
- राम: आप यहाँ कब आए? (Aap yahan kab aae)
Rohit: Today
- रोहित: आज (Aaj).
In other way:
Rohit: Yesterday
- रोहित: बीता हुआ कल (Beeta hua kal).
a) Tomorrow - कल (Kal)
b) Two days ago - दो दिन पहले (Do din pahle)
c) Ram: How long are you staying for?
- राम: तुम कितनी देर के लिए रह रहे हैं? (Tum kitni der ke liye rah rhe hai)
d) Rohit: I am leaving tomorrow.
- मैं कल जा रहा हूं। (Mai kal ja rha hu).
e) I will be leaving day after tomorrow.
- मैं परसों जाऊँगा। (Mai parson jaaunga).
f) I will be leaving in three days.
- मैं तीन दिनों में जाऊँगा। (Mai teen dino me jaunga).
Weeks in Hindi:
Ram: How many days in a week?
- राम: सप्ताह मे कितने दिन होते है।
Rohit: There are seven days in a week.
- रोहित : एक सप्ताह में सात दिन होते हैं ।
a) Monday
- सोमवार (Somvar)
b) Tuesday
- मंगलवार (Mangalvar)
c) Wednesday
- बुधवार (Budhvar)
d) Thursday
- बृहस्पतिवार (Brihaspativar)
e) Friday
- शुक्रवार (Shukravaar)
f) Saturday
- शनिवार (Shanivaar)
g) Sunday
- रविवार (Ravivar)
Months in Hindi:
Ram: How many months in a year.
- राम : एक साल में कितने महीने होते हैं।
Rohit: There are 12 months in a year.
- रोहित : एक साल में 12 महीने होते हैं।
1) January - जनवरी
2) February - फरवरी
3) March - मार्च
4) April - अप्रैल
5) May - मई
6) June - जून
7) July - जुलाई
8) August - अगस्त
9) September - सितंबर
10) October - अक्टूबर
11) November - नवंबर
12) December - दिसंबर
Clock Timing in Hindi:
Ram: What time are you leaving at?
- राम: क्या समय पर आप जा रहे हैं? (Kya samay par aap ja rhe hai?)
Rohit: Morning, at seven o'clock.
- रोहित : सुबह सात बजे। (Subah saat baje)
a) Morning, at a quarter past seven.
- सुबह सवा सात बजे। (Subah sawa saat baje)
b) Morning, at half past seven.
- सुबह साढे सात बजे। (Subah saade saat baje)
c) Morning, at a quarter to nine.
- सुबह पौने नौ बजे। (Subah paune nau baje)
d) Evening, at 5pm.
- शाम , 5 बजे। (Shaam, paanch baje)
e) I was late.
- मुझे देर हो गया। (Mujhe der ho gya)
