Uses of As If (मानो का उपयोग)
The word "as if" is defined as an expression which indicates that something is never going to happen or far fetched. In other words, it means the same way that it would be. Let us see some of the phrases given below.
Examples showing the uses of "as if" in a sentence in Hindi:
1) He is lecturing me as if he knows everything about the world.
वह मुझे ऐसे भाषण दे रहे हैं मानो वह दुनिया की हर चीज जानता हो। (Vah Mujhe aise bhashan de rhe hai mano vah duniya ki har chiz janta ho).
2) Right now I am feeling as if i just ran for 10 kilometers.
अभी मैं ऐसा महसूस कर रहा हूँ मानो 10 किलोमीटर दौङकर आया हूँ। (Abhi mai aisa mahsoos kar rha hu mano 10 kilometers daudkar aya hu).
3) They were behaving as if they were hiding something.
वे लोग ऐसा व्यवहार कर रहे थे मानो कुछ चुपा रहे हो। (Ve log aisa vyavhar kar rhe the mano kuch chupa rhe ho).
4) He speaks about plight of the common man as if they had faced those difficulties.
वह आम आदमी की दुर्दशा के बारे मे ऐसा कहता है मानो उसने वे सारी कठिनाइयाँ झेली हो। (Vah aam aadmi ki durdasha ke baare me aisa kahta hai mano usne ve saari kathinayiya jheli ho).
5) The AGM portrayed the company as if it was going to be the number one company in a couple of days.
एजीएम ने कंपनी को इस तरह प्रस्तुत किया मानो दो दिनो के अंदर य़ह नं 1 कंपनी होने जा रही हो। (AGM n company ko is trah prastut kiya mano do dino ke andar yah no1 company hone ja rhi ho).
6) He is behaving as if he has become a saint.
वह ऐसा व्यवहार कर रहा मानो वह एक साधु बन चुका हो। (Vah aisa behave kar rha mano ek saadhu ban chuka ho).
7) His acting was so brilliant as if he was actually dying.
उसका अभिनय इतना बेहतरीन था मानो वह सचमुच मर रहा हो। (Uska abhinay itna behtarin tha mano vah sachmuch mar rha ho).
8) She treated her servants as if they were dogs.
वह अपने नौकरों के साथ ऐसा व्यवहार करती थी मानो वे कुत्ते हो। (Vah apne naukrun ke saath aisa behave karti thi mano ve kutte ho).
9) You are upset with me as if my presence would have made any difference.
तुम मुझसे ऐसे नाराज मानो मेरी उपस्थति से कोई अंतर पङ जाता। (Tum mujhse aise naraj mano meri upastithi se koi antar pad jata).
10) He walks around the office as if he is the boss.
वह कार्यालय मे ऐसे घूमता है मानो वह मालिक हो। (Vah karyalay me aise ghumta ho hai mano vah malik ho).
11) She was arguing with the teacher as if she is arguing with her parents.
वह शिक्षक से ऐसे बहस कर रही थी मानो वह अपने माता पिता से जिद्द कर रही हो। (Vah shikshak se aise bahas kar rhi thi mano vah apne mata pita se jidd kar rhi ho).
12) His behavior towards me was so friendly as if we were best friends.
उसका मेरे प्रति व्यवहार इतना दोस्ताना था मानो हम लोग सबसे अच्छे दोस्त हो। (Uska mere prati behave itna dostana tha mano hum log sabse ache dost ho).
13) She packed so much clothes for the trip as if we were going for a month.
य़ात्रा के लिए उसने कपङे रख लिए मानो हम एक महीने के लिए जा रहे हो। (Yatra ke liye usne kapde rakh liye mano hum ek mahine ke liye ja rhe ho).
