Uses of If (अगर/यदि का उपयोग)
You use if in conditional sentences to introduce the circumstances in which an event or situation might happen, might be happening, or might have happened.
यदि आप परिस्थितियों या परिस्थितियों में होने वाली परिस्थितियों को पेश करने के लिए सशर्त वाक्यों में उपयोग करते हैं, तो हो सकता है, या हो सकता है।
(yadi aap paristhitiyon ya paristhitiyon mein hone vaalee paristhitiyon ko pesh karane ke lie sashart vaakyon mein upayog karate hain, to ho sakata hai, ya ho sakata hai.)
Examples:
1) If you had told me then I would have bought the medicines for you.
यदि तुमने मुझसे कहा होता तो मै तुम्हारे लिए दवाइयाँ खरीद लाता। (Yadi tumn mujhse kaha hota to mai tumhare liye dawaiyan kharid lata).
2) If he had been yesterday, he would have helped you.
अगर वह कल होता, तो तुम्हारी मदद करता। (Agar vah kal hota, to tumhari madad karta).
3) If the prices of cars hadn't increased, I would have bought one.
यदि कारों का दाम नही बढती होती , तो मै एक कार खरीद लेता। (Yadi Car ka dam nhi badti hoti, to mai ek car kharid leta).
4) The house would be completed on time only if the workers double their efforts.
यदि श्रमिक अपना प्रयास दोगुना कर देते, तो समय पर घर निर्माण पूरा हो जाता। (Yadi shramik apna paryas doguna kar dete, to samay par ghar nirman pura ho jata).
5) If the students had not worked hard on the project, they would not have been able to complete it.
यदि छात्रो ने इस परियोजना पर कङी मेहनत नही की होती, तो वे इसे पूरा करने मे समर्थ नही होते। (Yadi chatro ne is pariyojna par kdi mehnat nhi ki hoti, to ve ise purakarne me samarth nhi hote).
6) If you had worked harder you would have passed the exam.
यदि तुम और कङी मेहनत करते तो , तुम परीक्षा मे उतीर्ण हो जाते। (Yadi tum aur kadi mehnat karte to, tum pariksha me utirna ho jaate).
7) If I had known you were in the hospital, I would have visited you.
यदि मुझे जानकारी होती कि आप हाँस्पीटल मे थे, मै अवश्य मिलने आता। (Yadi mujhe jankari hoti ki aap hospital me the mai avashaya milne aata).
8) The MD might forgive the employees If the employees own up to their mistakes.
यदि कर्मचारीगण अपनी गलतियाँ मान लेते , तो एमडी उन्हे क्षमा कर सकते थे। (Yadi karmacharigan apni galtiyan man lete, to MD unhe Kshama kar sakte the).
9) If You pray enough, you just might be able to stone your sins.
यदि तुम ज्यादा प्रार्थना करते तो, तुम पापो के लिए पछताने मे समर्थ होते। (Yadi tum jyada prarthana karte to, tum papo ke liye pachatane me samarth hote).
10) If you do not exercise on regular basis, your body loses its shape.
यदि तुम नियमित रूप से व्यायाम नही करते, तो तुम्हारे शरीर का आकार - प्राकार ढीला हो जाएगा। (Yadi tum niyamit rup se vyayam nhi karte to tumhare sharir ka aakar-prakar dhila ho jayega).
11) If you study hard, you will pass your exam.
यदि मेहनत से पढ़ाई करते , तो तुम अपनी परीक्षा पास जाएगा। (Yadi mehnat se padayi karte, tp tum apni pariksha pas ho jayega).
12) If I get enough sleep, I will feel better.
यदि मुझे पर्याप्त नींद आती है, तो मैं बेहतर महसूस करूंगा। (Yadi mujhe paryapt nind aati hai, to mai behtar mahsoos karunga).
