Uses of Despite of (के बावजूद का उपयोग)
In Hindi, the word "despite" can be pronounced as बावजूद (bavjud). Let us see some of the examples to understand it better:
1) He won the badminton match despite the fact that he was playing with the left hand.
वह बाएं हाथ के साथ खेल रहा था कि इस तथ्य के बावजूद बैडमिंटन मैच जीत लिया। (Vah baayen haath ke saath khel raha tha ki is tathya ke bavjud badminton match jeet liya).
2) We enjoyed ourselves despite the poor weather.
खराब मौसम के बावजूद हम लोग ने आनंद किया। (Kharab mausam ke baavjud hum log ne anand kiya).
3) We lost the tournament despite winning the match.
हम मैच जीतने के बावजूद टूर्नामेंट खो दिया है। (Hum match jitne ke bavjud tournaments kho diya hai).
4) Despite heavy rains, he reached home on time.
भारी बारिश के बावजूद वह समय पर घर पहुंच गया। (Bhaari barish ke bavjud vah samai par ghar pahunch gaya).
5) Despite the corruption charges against him, he still hasn't given up his post.
उनके खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों के बावजूद वह अभी भी अपने पद तक नहीं दिया गया है। (Unke khilaf brastachar ke aaropo ke bavjud vah abhi bhi apne pad tak nahi diya gaya hai).
6) Despite high losses, the company did not fire any of its staff.
उच्च घाटे के बावजूद, कंपनी ने अपने कर्मचारियों की किसी को भी आग लगा नहीं था। (Uchch ghate ke bavjud company ne apne karmchariyon ki kisi bhi aagh laga nahi tha).
7) We didn't study for the test despite the teachers repeated insistence.
हम शिक्षकों से आग्रह दोहराने के बावजूद परीक्षा के लिए अध्ययन नहीं किया था। (Hum shikshako se aagrah dohrane ke bavjud pariksha ke liye adhyayan nahi kiya tha).
8) Despite the disagreement between them, they still greet each other.
उन दोनों के बीच असहमति के बावजूद, वे अभी भी एक दूसरे को बधाई दी। (Un dono ke beech asahmathi ke bavjud, ve abhi bhi ek dusre ko badhayi dhi).
9) Despite booking the tickets in advance, the airlines canceled the flights.
अग्रिम में टिकट बुकिंग के बावजूद, एयरलाइंस की उड़ानों को रद्द कर दिया। (Aagrim me ticket booking ke bavjud, airlines ki udano ko rad kar diya).
10) Despite meeting his family as after such a long period, he still was not happy.
इस तरह के एक लंबी अवधि के बाद के रूप में अपने परिवार से मिलने के बावजूद वह अभी भी खुश नहीं था। (Is tarah ke ek lambi aavdhi ke baadh ke rup me apne parivaar se milne ke bavjud vah abhi bhi khush nahi tha).
11) He passed the course, despite the fact that he never studied.
वह कभी अध्ययन नहीं किया इस तथ्य के बावजूद, पाठ्यक्रम पारित कर दिया। (Vah kabhi adhyan nahi kiya is tathya ke bavjud pathyakram paarit kar diya).
12) He was able to speak clearly despite the fact he was totally drunk.
वह पूरी तरह से नशे में था इस तथ्य के बावजूद स्पष्ट रूप से बात करने में सक्षम था। (Vah poori tarah se nashe me tha is tathya ke bavjud spasht rup se baat karne me saksham tha).
13) She was wearing only a T-shirt and shorts, despite the cold weather.
वह ठंड के मौसम के बावजूद केवल एक टी-शर्ट और शॉर्ट्स पहने हुए थी। (Vah thand ke mausam ke bavjud keval ek t-shirt aur shirts pahne hue thi).
14) The children played football all afternoon, despite the rain and wind.
बच्चों को बारिश और हवा के बावजूद, सभी दोपहर मे फुटबॉल खेला था। (Bacho ko barish aur hawa ke bavjud, sabhi dopahar me football khela tha).
